TREASURER VILLAGE OF EAST ALTON

 

The Treasurer for the Village of East Alton oversees the general financial management of the Village. The Treasurer plans and keeps track of budgets within the Village, collects, deposits, and keeps track of funds, and is responsible for all financial operations and services of the Village including/but not limited to budgeting, long-term financial planning, purchasing, accounts payable, payroll, accounting, financial reporting, debt management and treasury functions. The Treasurer is also responsible for reconciling bank statements, managing cash flow, and investing funds in accordance with the law. The Treasurer also manages the Village Hall and reports directly to the Village President. The Treasurer will also perform other duties assigned by the Village President. 

Residency within the Village is not required; however, within one year the employee will be required to move into the State of Illinois and live within 20 miles of the Village Corporate Limits.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience in Municipal or Government finance preferred

Degree from a four-year college or university with major course work in accounting, finance, business, or related field

Thorough experience in finance administration.

Salary dependent on experience and qualifications.  Excellent benefits package included.
