Tri City Basketball

Tri City Basketball is composed of kids from East Alton, Wood River and Roxana. This program has two components: There is a 3 on 3 basketball league (2nd and 3rd grade) that is designed to develop individual skills and basic fundamentals of the game, but in a team-setting by placing fewer players on the court at one time. There is also a 5 on 5 league (4-6th grade) which is also designed to teach individual skills and fundamentals but with the traditional 5 players per team on the court.

 

Games will be played at the East Alton Keasler Complex or Roxana Community Gym. Games will be played on weeknights and Saturdays. NO team registrations.

 

Free throw competition: Each participant receives 5 free throws prior to each of their regularly scheduled games. Awards will be given to 1st and 2nd place winners of their grade.

 

Includes: 10 game schedule, free throw competition, shoot-out and league shirts

 

Fee: $35 (A late fee will be added after the deadline; Friday November 18th, 2016. CANDY SALES are available if you register at East Alton Keasler Complex.

Tri City Basketball Clinic

Looking for something that your child can do to burn some energy this winter? Would you like them to learn some of the basic skills needed to play basketball? We have the answer for you. Sign them up for the Tri City (Wood River, Roxana, East Alton)Instructional Basketball Program.  Some of the details:

Dates: Saturdays, February 25, March 4, 11, 18

Time: Varies between 9:00 and 11:00am depending on your team schedule (weather dependent)

Where: Roxana Community Gym

Fee: $25.00 

Includes: T-shirt/ 4 week program designed to teach the fundamentals of the game of Basketball (i.e. dribbling, passing, shooting, teamwork, etc.)

Registration deadline is Wednesdaay, February 15, 2017

Spring Soccer 4 Tots

Tots Soccer This program is an introductory indoor soccer program is aimed at introducing the basic skills of soccer and introducing children to the concept of a team sport. The participants, boy and girls ages 3, 4, and 5 years old (not in Kindergarten), will receive their league shirt and eight sessions incorporating stretching, basic soccer drills and game format. The registration fee is $30 and the registration deadline in February 24th, 2017. All registrations received after this date will be have a $10 late fee added for total of $40. This is a non-competitive program and all sessions are held at the Keasler Recreation Complex inside the gymnasium and will be once during the week and a select few  Saturdays.

Fall Soccer 4 Tots

This is a non-competitive program and all sessions are held on Saturdays only and outdoors at Vanpreter Park, 500 Playground Court in East Alton.

Tri-City Soccer

Tri-city Soccer Tri-City Soccer program is composed of participants from East Alton, Wood River and Roxana communities. This program is for boys and girls ages 5 years to 13 years of age. The participants will receive a league t-shirt and 12 game soccer schedule. The participants are placed in their appropriate division as their age on September 1st of the current year. The registration fee is $35 or candy sales if available. The registration deadline is August 4, 2017 and any registrations received after this date will have a $5 late fee added for a total of $40.

The boys divisions are as follows: Pee Wee 5-6 years old. Atom 7-8 years old, Bantam 9-10 years old, Midget 11-13 years old 

The girls divisions are as follows: Ponytail 5-6 years old, Petite 7-8 years old, Chic 9-10 years old, Sophomore 11-13 years old

2017 Baseball / Softball Program

The East Alton Recreations Department baseball / softball program is designed to provide the participants a full summer of fun and recreation for girls and boys ages to 4 to 16 years of age. This begins with coach selection, facility care, quality equipment and experienced staffing / umpires holding the integrity of the game. The participants are placed on teams and all home games are played at Vanpreter Park. The registration fee for the baseball / softball is $35 or candy sales if available. The registration deadline is March 31st, 2017 and any registrations received after that date will have a $5 late fee added for a total of $40. All participants will receive a league t-shirt and will be placed in their appropriate division as their age on September 1st of the current year. East Alton Recreation Department's Instructional League - 5 Years and Under

This non-competitive league is for our boy and girl participants 5 years and under. These young athletes will be placed on teams of 10 or less. These teams will have 10 sessions which will consist of team basic drills and skills for baseball and softball. The sessions will progress and prepare them for game format as the sessions progress through the season. This league is instructed by Park staff or clinic instructors. All sessions are played at Vanpreter Park in East Alton

East Alton Recreation Department's Coach Pitch League - 7 years and under

This non-competitive league is designed for boys and girls ages 7 and under. These participants will be placed on a team and have a volunteer coach. These teams will hold practices and have a 12 game schedule. All games will be played at Vanpreter Park. There are no standings and coaches are on the field instructing during game play.

East Alton Boy's Baseball Leagues - 16 years and under

These male athletes are placed on all male teams appropriate for their age. They will have volunteer coaches who will coordinate practices and coach during the games.

Rookie Division is for boys 9 years of age and under. This league is composed of East Alton teams, Wood River teams and Roxana teams. All home games will be played at East Alton. This is pitching machine format. Trophies will be given to top 3 teams. 

Minor Division is for boys 11 years of age and under. This league is composed of teams from East Alton, Wood River, Roxana, and Bethalto Boys and Girls Club. All home games will be played at East Alton. This is player pitch with a modified format.

Major Division is for boys 13 years of age and under. This league is composed of teams from East Alton, Wood River, Roxana and Bethalto Boys and Girls Club. All home games will be played at East Alton. This is player pitch format.

Juvenile Divison is for boys 16 years of age and under. This league is composed of teams from East Alton, Wood River, Roxana and Bethalto Boys and Girls Club. All home games will be played at East Alton. This is player pitch format with IHSA rules.

East Alton Girl's Softball Leagues - 16 years and under

These female athletes are placed on all female teams appropriate for their age. They will have volunteer coaches who will coordinate practices and coach during the games.

Ponytail Division is for girls 9 years of age and under. This league is composed of East Alton teams, Roxana, and Wood River teams. All home games will be played at East Alton. This is pitching machine format. The top 3 teams will receive a trophy at the end of the season.

Petite Division is for girls 12 years of age and under. This league is composed of teams from East Alton, Wood River, Roxana and Bethalto Boys and Girls Club. All home games will be played at East Alton. This is player fast pitch with a modified format.

Chic Division  is for girls 16 years of age and under. This league is composed of teams from East Alton, Wood River, Roxana and Bethalto Boys and Girls Club. All home games will be played at East Alton. This is player pitch format with IHSA rules.

BULLET NIGHT DANCES

Bullet Dances Bullet Nights are a dance for East Alton Middle School students or any Village of East Alton residents who are in grades 6th, 7th, or 8th. These dances are held at the Keasler Recreation Complex located at 615 Third Street in East Alton from 7-9 pm. All dances are will have the best professional DJ on this side of the Mississippi, "Kirsten Gray" with Gray Entertainments. All dances are supervised by Park and Recreation Staff and have a unique theme. The cost of each dance is $2 per student and you pay at the door the date of the event. Come join the fun!

Movie Nights

Movie Night Movie Nights are a special night for Eastwood students or any Village of East Alton residents who are in grades kindergarten thru 5th. These movie nights are held at the Keasler Recreation Complex located at 615 Third Street in East Alton from 5-7 pm. All movie nights include a recent youth movie rated "PG" or below, kid's meal (hotdog, pizza, or nachos). All movie nights are supervised by Park and Recreation Staff. The cost of each Movie Night is $2 per student and you pay at the door the date of the event. Come join the fun!

    Trick or Treat

    Halloween Open House Trick or Treat is open for participants Pre-K thru 5th grade students at Eastwood Elementary School or any Village of East Alton resident. Come visit the Keasler Recreation Complex located at 615 Third Street in East Alton for a "Trick" or a "Treat". This is going to be held on October 31st from 6-8pm. No membership is required and all are welcome to come take a tour.

    Youth Christmas Party

    Christmas The Youth Christmas Party is a special day for youth ages 11 years and under. This event is a unique time for youth to enjoy a variety of activities, which include a visit with Santa, holiday face painting, Christmas games, special snack, and a craft project. This year's party registration fee at the door is $2 per child and is on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at 1pm (all above activities usually takes 60-90 minutes to complete.) All participants will leave with a smile and a treat from the Parks & Recreation Department. Parents do stay and accompany the younger kids thru their activities, so bring your cameras and come join the fun.

    Youth Easter Egg Hunt

    Easter Egg Hunt

    The Youth Easter Egg Hunt is a special day for youth ages 11 years and under. This event is a unique time for youth to enjoy a variety of activities, which include a visit with the Easter Bunny, face painting, Easter games, special snack, Easter Egg hunt (designated time for each age group) and a craft. This year's party registration fee at the door is $2 per child and is on Saturday, April 8, 2017 with a start time of 1pm (all above activities usually takes 60-90 minutes to complete.) Parents do stay and accompany the younger kids thru their activities except during the Easter Egg Hunt. For ages 1-3 years old, parents can walk with them, but the children are the only ones who can pick up the Easter Eggs, so bring your cameras and come join the fun. 


    Hunt times:

        1-3 years of age is at 1:00pm

        4-7 years of age is at 1:30pm

        8-11 years of age is at 2:00pm

    Holiday Fun Day Keasler "Holiday" Fun Days

    Bullet Dances Keasler Holiday Fun days are open for participants Kindergarten thru 5th grade. All fun days are held at the Keasler Recreation Complex, 615 Third Street in East Alton, and supervised by Recreational Department employees. The participants will enjoy fun game time activities, craft projects, movie and lunch is included. The Fun Days start at 10 am and finish at 3pm. Cost per Fun Day is $4 if they have a membership, $6 if they do not have a membership. There is a late fee of $2 if registered after the deadline. Maximum of 50 participants. This year's Fun Days are Tuesday, December 29th and others are TBA

    Soapbox Derby Soapbox Festival

    Bullet Dances Soapbox Festival is an annual community wide event for area youth ages 7 years and up who are 4' to 4'9" and between 55-90 pounds to race the soapbox cars down Berkshire Hill in East Alton. All cars are provided by sponsors for the youth to use in the races. These sponsors purchase a stock car kit and then have it specially decorated for their business. Also, many organizations, clubs, churches and other groups come out and set up games, activity booths, food and crafts for the spectators to enjoy throughout the day. This year's event will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2017 (the rain date Sunday, September 10 with everything two hours later).
